Finding The Ekumen: Politics as Religion, Interventionism and Ressentiment.

I’d like to invite you an upcoming video discussion between myself and Gordon White, author of Star.Ships (from Scarlet Imprint) and prolific podcaster and blogger at RuneSoup.

Gordon invited me to guest host a webinar with him after reading my essay, “Here Be Monsters.” The title of the discussion is Finding The Ekumen: Politics as Religion, Interventionism and Ressentiment. We’ll be discussing mass politics as mass religion, as well as the matter of ressentiment (for a primer on the concept, see my essay The Vampiric Gaze), the crisis of the left, and looking at what kinds of actions are possible in a environment when actions often create more problems.
