An ancient pagan rite practiced in Luxembourg

I have a new druid journal video for you, and this time it’s available to everyone!

It’s a video of a local village performing the Buergbrennen (“castleburning”), an end-of-winter rite which has been practiced continuously throughout Europe for thousands of years. It was assimilated into the Catholic Church (as with other old pagan forms) and is now linked to Lent.

The video is a little over 7 minutes long and has substitles explaining what is happening.
