And it will take me awhile. My skin is still warm and sun-drenched from this week, my heart quite full of all sorts of joys, and my mind is trying awfully hard to make sense of all the beauty.
But here’s some other things, first. I’ve two pieces elsewhere this week, both written while at a festival, both containing words written while beautiful people were being beautiful and unclothed within several feet of me. If you can write while people are having sex in front of you, I think you can probably write anywhere.
The Dance of Desire and Delight
This week’s A Sense of Place post
Desire and delight seem to be a dance. The leaves of these trees long for the sun: the reaching of their branches leaves them open to the play of wind and rain, song in tempos which seem not our time, though perhaps only not in our notice. They all seem to delight in this dance. So, too, the water and rocks, streams from snow and rain and springs passing unhindered across and around the stones worn down, shaped and formed by this long dance.
Into The Traumatic Breach
A lengthy piece for The Wild Hunt, my first monthly contribution.
These moments of traumatic gaps, times of weakness or crisis within the hegemonic and totalizing power of authority (in our case, Capitalist and “Liberal-Democratic” hegemony), often see strong cultural revolt as the oppression (and its internalized complement, repression) temporarily loses its grip upon the expressions of people within those societies. In such moments, Pagan spiritualities, radical/leftist political movements, and sexual-liberationist movements all seem to push back into that gap at the same time.
Also,
Be well, all of you. I have great fondness for you, those whom I’ve met and I’ve never met who’ve been reading my words. Thank you.

Lovely words about delight. Looking forward to reading both posts. (Off now for the first fun I’ve had in a long time!)
Be well.
