You’re stripping me of my words
Though I wear so many
While my flesh still sweats
in sun-soaked cloth
Like the nakedness I cannot wear
Your eyes undress me with my words,
though I never stop speaking
strewing meaning across chairs
and more to find later
in stumbling rushed morning
’till there are no words.
When clothes came off
I’d been naked for hours
I wear so many
yet never enough
to ever quite cover
that I never quite know
what ever to say.
